Special prizes for the Highpoint and BOS with the highest combined score for both days.

Derby rules are simple.

1. The dog must run in and complete all 4 Heats both days.

2. The combined score for both days is used to determine the overall score.

3. Ties will be settled by the placement of the higher placed whippet on the Sunday meet.

The Greater Chicago Whippet Club will hold one WRA sanctioned Whippet, one LGRA sanctioned Sighthound and one Silken Windhound race meet on EACH DAY.  TWO SETS OF POINTS ON ONE WEEKEND!!  

The WRA whippet meet will be a 150yd meet.  The LGRA and ISWS meets shall be 200 yds.

	Points will be awarded toward the Gazehound Racing Champion (GRC) title, Superior Gazehound Racing Champion (SGRC), Straight Racing Champion (SRC), Straight Racing Champion Excellent(SRC), Whippet Racing Champion (WRCh) and Whippet Racing Champion Excellent (WRChX).
		
	All LGRA and ISWS meets will be held in conjunction with the Whippet Racing Association sanctioned Whippet Race meets held by the GCWC .
	Whippet measuring and inspection will begin at 8:30 A.M. with races beginning immediately following the draw of the races.  
	
	LGRA and ISWS Inspection will begin immediately after whippet inspection is complete and during the first heat of whippet races.
	
	Bitches in season and lame sighthounds are ineligible to race in WRA, Silken Windhound and LGRA meets.

	Pre-Entry fee is $10.00 per dog per day with a $30 limit per kennel for pre entries each day. 
	Post entries will be $18 per dog with a $54 kennel limit each day.  Any entry not received by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, June 12, prior to a meet will be considered a post entry with any additional amount for late mail entries collected at the day of the meet.
	
	A kennel is defined as dogs brought and handled by one family and owned, or co-owned, by the members of that family.  Kennel entries need not be of the same breed.

	Registration with the WRA or the LGRA:  
	All entrants must be registered with the WRA, ISWS or the LGRA.  Registration is a one time thing for each dog.  Bring a photocopy of your dogs registration papers and $2, for each dog to the race meet.  This registration fee and the copy of the dogs papers will be sent to the WRA or the LGRA. This is in addition to the entry fee for each dog.  Pre-registration may be sent to the WRA or the LGRA so that it arrives at least two weeks before the date of the race meet you desire to enter.

	LGRA Eligible Breeds: Only purebred Afghan Hounds, Basenji, Borzoi, Chart Polski Cirneco dell'Etna, Greyhounds, Ibezan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds and Sloughi may enter.

	LGRA Registration Requirements:  All hounds participating must be individually registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC), Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), United Kennel Club UKC, National Greyhound Association (NGA), or with any foreign registry for pure-bred progeny of Gazehound breeds. Hounds registered with the AKC under Indefinite Listing Privilege (ILP) or the CKC equivalent may also be entered.  All hounds entered must be recognized by the LGRA.  
	Foreign registered Gazehounds not yet registered in the United States may register provisionally until an approved registration is obtained.
	
	Silken Windhounds MUST be pre-registered with Bobbie Deis, the Silken Windhound Registrar, to race in these meets.  Contact her at: bunnydeis@yahoo.com. with enough time for a reply to come back to you before the meets.
	
	The person entering a hound for racing must be the actual owner, or agent of the owner, or in possession of papers transferring said ownership to the person entering the hound.

	All racers will run with both Muzzles and numbered Racing Blankets.  

	LGRA and Silken Windhound racers will be hand slipped on lure movement.  If ALL owners for a breed desire, and the breed will comfortably fit in the starting boxes, the dogs may be started from the starting box.  Usually this means that Basenjis, Greyhounds, I.G.'s, Pharoah Hounds, Afghans, Sloughi's, Ibizan's, Silkens and Rhodesians are boxed. 
	Three Heats of LGRA Races will be run each day for each breed.  Each race will consist of up to four gazehounds running a 200 yard sprint race.  With two or four judges for the finish of each race.
	The minimum number of starters for each LGRA breed and Silkens is two for an official race meet for that breed.
	
	Whippets will run 4 heats of races with up to 6 whippets in each race.  All whippet races will be from a starting box.

	A Porta-Potty will be provided. Water to cool the dogs will be provided if needed.   
	
	Camping is permitted.  	
	
	There will be a POT LUCK LUNCH both days in between Heats so please bring a dish to pass.
